apparently, an IEEE-endorsed conference just accepted a generated paper, and not just in the bogus we don't review
mode where generated papers have been accepted before, but in a reviewed submission process. unfortunately, the reviews are not publicly available (they are probably along the lines of looks good to me, and we need some papers from abroad
), but the abstract is made available via IEEE's digital library:
Recent advances in cooperative technology and classical communication are based entirely on the assumption that the Internet and active networks are not in conflict with object-oriented languages. In fact, few information theorists would disagree with the visualization of DHTs that made refining and possibly simulating 8 bit architectures a reality, which embodies the compelling principles of electrical engineering. In this work we better understand how digital-to-analog converters can be applied to the development of e-commerce.
sounds good to me! there is a lively discussion at slashdot where the story has been publicized, for example pointing out that the paper was part of a poster session, and not of the main research track. but still, reading that abstract (assuming anybody ever read it and hopefully the paper as well), this paper should have been rejected and not funneled into the poster track.
and i just want to point out that the title of the conference in question, the 2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE 2008)
, is dangerously close to my proposed 34th intergalactic conference on science, nature, and other really complicated stuff
that i am still intending to trademark...
