while searching for anything where people are using URI query strings to access an atom feed, i ran into draft-sayre-atompub-protocol-seek, which is a very specific variant of this pattern. it defines a small set of parameters that a client can use to better control what the server returns. it is not so much a real query (i.e., controlling the entries which will be returned), but more of a control (being able to request a certain number of entries). there is a query facet to it, though, because the draft also proposes time values which would then request entries within the specified time range.
the draft is pretty old (october 2005) and apparently never made it beyond its first version. i don't know the story behind that, but i have added it to the Atom Landscape Overview just to make sure that it is part of that picture.
maybe i should start to better organize the overview. more like a timeline or something like that. but then again, so far there are not that many things to track...
