now i finally got around to update the new static page for the iPhone To Do List
with the things that have been changed in the iPhone 1.1.3 Software Update. here is a brief list of the most important changes to the earlier version of the list:
- after entering various european markets, the iPhone now allows users to enter non-ASCII characters. anything else would have been suicide in these marketplaces.
- while the SMS app now at least allows multiple recipients for one message (which in an unbelievable display of professionalism was presented by steve jobs in his macworld keynote as one of the main new features of the new software version), it still displays messaging as if it were chatting.
- i was asking for geolocation, and now i have it, even without a new GPS-equipped iPhone, using a smart combination of cell tower and Wi-Fi access point localization. that's really nice. too bad they did not include Google Maps terrain view when working on the maps app, though.
the really neat thing about 1.1.3: still no flash. maybe the iPhone really will be a permanently flash-free zone.
