since apple did come up with their wonderful
Apple Software Update (introduced in itunes 7, i think), they more or less continually ship updates of the updater itself (!), and itunes. and every time they ship the whole product of a wonderful 55mb. maybe somebody could introduce them to the concept of incremental updates? yes, it takes a bit more effort to come up with a smart and robust way of doing it, but it is not that difficult.
and also, why do the majority of the updates require me to reboot my computer? even microsoft has learned to be a bit more sensitive in how much time their customers should spend with patching stuff that somehow slipped trough quality control. there is not much i expect of itunes in terms of its quality as a well-behaving software product, but at least it should not ask me to reboot my computer once a week.
